Thinking about beginnings and endings, and everything that exists must have a beginning, and everything that has a beginning must have an ending.

That's one of those universal rules. But, of course, another universal rules assures us that exceptions are not only possible, but increasingly likely..

But I'm wondering really, where anything begins. Especially time and the universe. Obviously they had a beginning, but there's no guarantee they have a beginning. Which means they don't necessarily have to have an ending, but they might develop one in time.

Which, by the way, is conversant with my theory of the creation of the universe.

So maybe when people try to go back to the beginning of time, they fail, cause when time began, it simply came to be, and there it was, as if it had always been there, so when you try to go back before there was time, you can't, cause there isn't any time there, so you can't be there, so time just sort of stretches back infinitely and there you are.

Which is totally not the point of this discussion, so let's ignore that.

The point is with immortality and who gets it. I mean, we're dealing with major, important, universal rules here, so you can't just go breaking them willy nilly. So how do you go about getting immortality then?

Not that you should think I want immortality. That isn't really of much interest to me, although I do worry it might happen when I'm not looking, and then I'll be stuck with it.

But really, if you find a point where immortality begins, then doesn't that mean that at some point immortality is scheduled to end (barring, of course, necessary exceptions)? Not that immortality is always a guaranteed exception anyway, but sometimes it is, and sometimes it's not a pre-existing condition.

So really, you have to wonder how and when anything begins. Can something begin of it's own volition, or does it take some kind of act (whether of will or instinct) to begin something?

So I think the question is, does Shit really just Happen?
